1. Data protection at a glance

General information

The following notes provide an overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally.

In short: this website uses no tracking or analytics services, no advertising trackers and no social media plugins. No cookies requiring your consent are set — which is why you will not see a cookie banner here. Fonts are served from our own server; no connection to Google takes place.

3. Server log data when visiting the website

When you access our website, the browser on your device automatically sends information to our web server, which is temporarily stored in a log file. The following information is recorded without any action on your part:

• IP address of the requesting device
• Date and time of access
• Name and URL of the file retrieved
• Website from which access originated (referrer URL)
• Browser used and, where applicable, your operating system

The purpose of this processing is the technical delivery of the website, ensuring system security and stability, and defending against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and trouble-free operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data is not combined with other data sources and is not evaluated for marketing purposes. Log data is deleted automatically after a short period.

4. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies only. These are required to provide the function you have expressly requested and therefore do not require consent under Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG. We do not use analytics, tracking or marketing cookies.

• tv_lang — stores the language you selected (German or English). Set only when you actively switch languages. Lifetime: 12 months.
• tv_preview — set exclusively in non-public preview areas after a password has been entered, keeping you signed in there. Lifetime: 30 days.

Neither cookie contains a personal profile, and neither is used to recognise you across websites. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time; your language selection will then reset on each visit.

5. Fonts

This website uses the typefaces Cormorant Garamond, Instrument Sans and JetBrains Mono. The font files are copied to our server when the website is built and are served exclusively from there. Your browser never establishes a connection to servers operated by Google or any other third party; in particular, no IP address is transmitted to Google.

6. Hosting (Vercel)

Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. Vercel processes the server log data described in section 3 on our behalf in order to deliver the website and ensure its security. Delivery takes place via a global content delivery network, so processing may also occur on servers outside the EU, in particular in the USA. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and efficient provision of our online offering (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with Vercel; transfers to the USA are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Contacting us

If you contact us via the contact form, by email, telephone or WhatsApp, we process the data you provide (in particular your name, email address, and where applicable your company, telephone number and the content of your message) in order to respond to your enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) together with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give when submitting the form. We delete your enquiry and the related correspondence once they are no longer required; statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

To protect against automated messages, the form contains a field that is invisible to you, and we limit the number of submissions per IP address. A service such as Google reCAPTCHA, which transmits data to third parties, is deliberately not used.

8. Delivery of form messages (Resend)

For the technical delivery of messages submitted via the contact form to our mailbox, we use the service Resend operated by Resend, Inc., 2261 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA. The data you enter in the form is transmitted to Resend and processed there for the purpose of delivery. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Resend (Art. 28 GDPR) and have configured processing to take place on servers within the European Union. Insofar as a transfer to the USA nevertheless occurs, it takes place on the basis of the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. The contents of your enquiry are not stored in any database on this website.

9. Email mailbox

Your message arrives in our business email mailbox, where it is processed and retained as part of ordinary business correspondence. The operator of our email service acts for us as a processor on the basis of an agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.

10. Disclosure of data

Beyond the processors named in this policy, your personal data is not transferred to third parties. In particular, we do not sell data and do not pass it on for advertising purposes. Disclosure only takes place where you have expressly consented, where it is necessary to perform a contract, or where we are legally obliged to do so.

11. Links to external services

Our website contains links to external services such as LinkedIn, Xing and WhatsApp. These are plain links, not embedded content or social media plugins: data is only transmitted to these providers once you actively click the link. The respective provider is responsible for data processing on the linked pages, and their privacy policies apply.

Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.

14. Changes to this privacy policy

We will update this privacy policy as soon as data processing on this website changes — for example, if analytics services are introduced in future. In that case we will obtain your consent beforehand.
